A blog project using the DSM-5-TR

Have you ever found yourself wishing you had known more about certain diagnoses. Maybe wishing to know more of what they truly look like in real life, not just how they’re portrayed on the Hollywood screen? With this project, we aim to take an imaginative and creative approach to exploring mental health diagnoses.

This blog post marks the beginning of a series that will highlight one DSM-5-TR diagnosis for each letter of the alphabet. Our goal is to raise awareness, reduce stigma, and expand our knowledge while also making mental health information more easily accessible.

Each post will focus on a specific diagnosis, such as A for Attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) and B for Bipolar Disorder. The diagnosis topic may be selected at random or chosen based on the author’s area of expertise. These posts are designed to be both educational and engaging from committed and informed professionals. Contributing authors may be experts in the featured diagnosis and may draw from their clinical experience with clients. If an author includes a case file, please note that these files are fictional and do not contain any real client information. Their purpose is to illustrate key aspects of the diagnosis and make mental health discussions more relatable and essential.

It’s always a good time to talk about mental health. We hope to encourage connection and promote compassion for individuals living with these diagnoses. Through this “alphabet soup”, we invite readers to learn, reflect, and perhaps see themselves or loved ones in a new light.

Stay tuned as we begin this journey from A to Z. From alphabet soup to nuts, we're serving up a full course of mental health insight. Let’s learn, grow, and connect one diagnosis at a time. 🍲🧠
